For communities

Add a human amenity to your community.

Pools, trails, restaurants, wellness programs, and gathering spaces shape where people live and visit. A Coach in Residence supports what people are carrying while they are there. Roaming Coaches designs residencies of four weeks or longer for residential communities, wellness destinations, private clubs, coliving spaces, founder communities, retreat centers, and other places built around meaningful experience.

Designed around your community

No two communities need the same program. We begin by understanding your residents or guests, culture, rhythms, goals, physical setting, and existing amenities. A residency may include:

  • Confidential individual coaching
  • Scheduled or drop-in office hours
  • Walking coaching sessions
  • Founder or leadership circles
  • Transition-focused small groups
  • Fireside conversations
  • Workshops and facilitated discussions
  • Community meals and informal gatherings
  • Coordination with existing wellness or member programming
  • Virtual follow-up after the residency
  • Seasonal or recurring return visits

The coach's availability, schedule, scope, boundaries, and responsibilities are agreed upon before the residency begins.

How residency pricing works

Residencies are custom-designed rather than sold as a fixed package. Pricing depends on the coach, location, duration, accommodations, community size, program design, and how residents or guests access private coaching. Most partnerships use one of three structures:

Community-sponsored
the community pays a residency fee, generally provides accommodations, and the agreed coaching access, office hours, and community programming are offered as an included amenity.
Hybrid
the community provides accommodations and a base fee, group programming or selected office hours may be included, and participants pay separately for some private sessions.
Seasonal or custom
a longer, recurring, or multi-coach partnership that may include returning residencies, different specialties throughout the year, and programming across multiple properties.

Every proposal clearly defines:

  • residency dates and minimum duration
  • coach availability
  • included private and group programming
  • housing and workspace
  • travel responsibilities
  • participant payment model
  • community and coach responsibilities
  • Roaming Coaches coordination and placement fees
  • confidentiality and reporting boundaries
  • and cancellation and extension terms

The standard minimum residency is four weeks. Typical placements last six to twelve weeks.

Where a residency fits

Six kinds of community.

  1. The coastal residential community

Residents include entrepreneurs, remote executives, retirees, and families navigating major life changes. The setting is beautiful, but meaningful support is mostly left to chance.

A life-transition and executive coach spends eight weeks in the community, offering private sessions, weekly walking office hours, two monthly conversations, and informal participation in community life.

Residents gain access to a trusted thinking partner, while the community adds an amenity built around human connection rather than infrastructure.

  2. The wellness destination

Guests arrive seeking rest, clarity, and a reset, but many leave without translating insight into decisions or sustainable changes.

A Coach in Residence supports guests through confidential coaching, integration conversations, transition planning, and small groups alongside existing wellness programming.

The destination extends its promise from temporary restoration to meaningful reflection and action.

  3. The founder community

Founders are surrounded by tactical business advice but have few places to speak honestly about identity, pressure, leadership, relationships, and what success is costing them.

An experienced founder coach offers individual coaching, founder circles, leadership office hours, and walking conversations over six weeks.

Members receive support that goes beyond pitch decks, metrics, and operating plans.

  4. The active adult or retirement community

Residents may be navigating retirement, business exits, purpose, relationships, health changes, caregiving, and identity after a demanding career.

A transition coach spends a season in the community, facilitating private conversations, purpose workshops, small groups, and informal gatherings.

Residents receive thoughtful support for a chapter that is often treated as a lifestyle change rather than a profound life transition.

  5. The private club or membership community

Members have access to dining, recreation, wellness, and professional networks, but personal and leadership coaching remains separate from the community experience.

An executive and life-transition coach holds weekly office hours, member sessions, leadership conversations, and curated events over eight to twelve weeks.

The club offers a more personal and relevant form of member support.

  6. The coworking or coliving community

Members are geographically mobile and professionally ambitious, but often experience disconnection, uncertainty, burnout, and questions about where they belong.

A Coach in Residence supports members with transition coaching, founder conversations, career clarity, and facilitated peer groups.

The community becomes more than a place to work or stay. It becomes a place where people can think more clearly about what comes next.

Questions communities ask.

A Coach in Residence is an experienced professional coach who lives within or near a host community for a defined period of at least four weeks. The coach becomes a familiar, accessible presence and offers an agreed combination of private coaching, office hours, small groups, workshops, and community participation.
